Active Cheshire
I recently retired from my role as the Assistant Director of Operations for the National Trust in the North West, having previously served as the General Manager at Quarry Bank in Wilmslow. My first career was in local newspapers, where I was the Managing Director of the Cheshire Guardian Group, overseeing titles and websites across the county.
I have lived in Northwich for over 35 years, and I feel deeply rooted in the place where I have worked, raised three children, and taken part in local sports clubs, musical groups, and voluntary organisations. The reasons my husband and I moved to Northwich in the first place are the same reasons I believe the Cheshire Central area has so much potential: affordable housing, employment opportunities, excellent schools, easy commuting, a strong sense of community and local pride, and beautiful, accessible countryside on the doorstep.
The establishment of Cheshire Central, within the context of the government’s plans for local devolution, provides a real opportunity to unlock this potential for the benefit of local residents and the local economy. It feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am privileged to be part of a team working to make it happen.
